Syncopated Drumming Clinic - Est. 2016 In 2014 Brian Miller reached out to the Society for Syncopated Drumming to ask us how to a syncopated drum line at his middle school in Downey, CA. This idea was met with much enthusiasm from the SSD board, as well as the students and parents at O.L.P.H. The society has donated cadences, T-Shirts and bass drums to the group, as well as invitations to perform at the LBJCB drummer reunions. We have supported the O.L.P.H. drum line with our syncopated drumming clinics as part of their summer training to help sharpen their style, performance and sound. |
Woodrow Wilson H.S. Long Beach CA Syncopated Drumming Clinic - Est. 2016
When we heard that the Wilson High School drummers were continuing to perform drumming showcases using classic syncopated cadences and drums, we offered our coaching skills as part of their summer percussion camp. This has been well received by the drum section and band director and the group has really turned out a great performance! We also support the group with equipment and drum repairs. LBCC Band Reunion 9/16/17
I am writing to express our appreciation for the use of some of your drums for the recent reunion of the Long Beach City College Viking Marching Band. Our members from the 1960s and 1970s convened to rehearse and perform at a recent Long Beach City College football game. Your drums allowed us to provide instruments for alumni traveling from out of town to participate in the event.
Our halftime show included a feature for the drummers playing a selection of classic cadences. The drummers also performed a full set on the track as the teams prepared for the third quarter kickoff. We had the opportunity to introduce syncopated drumming to a new audience at the college, and received great response from the crowd in the stands, as well as the LBCC cheerleaders.
There are several photos and videos on our Facebook pages:

Thank you again for the use of the equipment. It is a valuable resource for continued demonstrations of syncopated drumming to area audiences.
And the beat goes on….
